NEW IN 1.3 · RASHNOVA PROOF
Prove it existed, exactly as it is.
Drop in a file. Rashnova proves it existed, unchanged, by a certain time. Free, offline, and your file never leaves your computer. Anyone can check the proof later, in any browser, without Rashnova and without trusting us.
ITS FINGERPRINT (SHA-256)
The seal is drawn from the fingerprint, the way Rashnova draws it on every certificate. Made in your browser; nothing is sent.
This page only shows the fingerprint and the seal. A real proof is made in Rashnova, on your computer: signed twice and witnessed by four independent clocks.
WHEN IT EXISTED
Witnessed by four independent clocks, never by us.
NOT BEFORE
League of Entropy
A public random value that did not exist earlier is sealed inside the proof (drand).
NOT AFTER
DigiCert
A time stamp authority signs the time (the internet standard RFC 3161).
NOT AFTER
Sectigo
A second, independent time stamp authority signs it too.
LOCKED IN
Bitcoin
OpenTimestamps puts the proof into a Bitcoin block, usually within a few hours, and the proof completes itself.
Only a salted fingerprint is sent, never the file, and nothing goes to Alcyone. Your computer's clock is also compared with India's official time (NPL).
Signed twice, once with post quantum cryptography.
Every proof carries a classic signature (ECDSA P-256, kept in your computer's security chip when it has one) and a post quantum one (ML-DSA-65, the NIST standard FIPS 204), so it still stands in 2035, after today's signatures are retired.
Every proof checks itself.
Each proof is one .rproof file that carries its own checker. Open verify.html in any browser, offline, and drop the file in; VERIFY.md gives the same checks with standard tools. If Rashnova disappeared tomorrow, your proofs would still check.
Tied to the recorder.
Making a proof is written into your computer's own sealed record, and Rashnova keeps watching the proved file: Not changed since, or Changed. Only Rashnova can put the proof of a file and the record of the machine together.

WHAT YOU GET, FREE
Two fingerprints
SHA-256 and SHA3-256, made on your computer, so a future weakness in one does not undo the proof.
A certificate worth keeping
The fingerprint, the time window, six check words for comparing a printed copy by eye, and a star seal drawn from the proof itself.
Folders, as one proof
A whole folder becomes one proof, and one file can later be shown on its own without revealing the others.
Facts sheets for evidence forms
Filled with what your computer knows, for a lawyer or an expert to complete: India (Section 63 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023), the USA (a Federal Rule of Evidence 902(14) certification) and a general sheet. Never legal advice.
Checking, as easy as making
Drop a file and its proof in: Matches, or Does not match, with the common reasons.
Offline first
Offline, the proof is made at once, and the public times are added the next time you are online.
HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT SHOWS
Showing the limits is why you can trust it.
IT PROVES
- This exact file: one changed byte gives a different fingerprint.
- When it existed: the window of time witnessed by others.
- That the proof was made on this Rashnova installation and has not been altered.
IT DOES NOT PROVE
- Who made the file, or who owns it.
- That what it says is true.
- That a court will accept it. The facts sheets help a lawyer or an expert.
WHY NOT A PROOF SITE
Others charge for a proof. Ours is free, and does more.
| MOST PROOF SITES | RASHNOVA PROOF |
|---|---|
| Paid per proof or by subscription | Free, forever |
| Online only; you use their website | Works offline; the file never leaves your computer |
| The proof depends on the company staying up | Checks itself in any browser, offline, without us |
| One witness (one blockchain) | Four independent witnesses: drand, DigiCert, Sectigo, Bitcoin |
| One signature, retired by 2035 | Two signatures, one post quantum |
| A certificate | A certificate, a package that checks itself, facts sheets for evidence forms |
| Only the file | Also written into your computer's own sealed record |
WHO IT IS FOR
- Before you hand your laptop to a repair shop: prove your files as they were.
- Agreements and contracts: the version you signed, and when it existed.
- Photos and videos of damage, an accident, a rental flat on moving in day.
- Receipts, warranties and invoices.
- Your own work: designs, writing, code, before you share it.
- Records a company must keep: policies, notices, incident and breach records.
Trust is good. Proof is better.
THE OFFICIAL CHECKER
Check any proof yourself.
Every proof carries its own checker. This is the reference copy, published with its own fingerprint, so you never have to rely on a checker only because it came inside a package. It runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.
- 01Open the checker in any browser. It works offline.
- 02Drop in the .rproof file and the file it proves.
- 03Read the answer: Matches, this file is exactly the one proved. Or Does not match, with the common reasons.
The product side gives the exact file and its SHA-256 with the 1.3.0 release.
Add it as described in src/lib/proof-checker.ts. Never a draft.
To check the checker, compare its fingerprint with the one above:
Get-FileHash .\verify.html # Windows sha256sum verify.html # macOS, Linux
AN OPEN FORMAT
The format is open. Anyone may build tools that read Rashnova proofs.
THE FORMAT DOCUMENT ARRIVES WITH THE 1.3.0 RELEASE
WHY IT IS FREE
Free where others charge. Paid only where it costs us.
Everything Rashnova does on your computer runs on your computer, and Proof's witnesses are free public services. It costs us nothing to give, so it is free, forever. We charge only for what costs us to run: the encrypted copy in the cloud.
THE JOB
WHAT IT USUALLY COSTS
WITH RASHNOVA
Proving a file existed, by a certain time
Proof sites charge for every proof, from about ₹150 to ₹500 a file, or a monthly subscription.
Rashnova Proof: free, forever.
A record of what happened on a computer
Workplace monitoring tools charge about $10 to $35 per computer, every month.
The recorder, the Readout, Repair Mode and Handover Mode: free, forever.
Stopping USB drives from opening
Endpoint security suites with USB control start at about $60 per computer, every year.
USB storage blocking: free, a switch with your PIN.
A copy that survives a wiped or stolen computer
This is the part that costs money to run, everywhere.
Personal: the one thing we charge for, because storing your encrypted copy costs us money.
Typical published list prices in October 2026, for comparison only. Prices vary by plan and region. See our pricing.
Is Rashnova Proof really free?
Yes. Making proofs, keeping them on your computer and checking them is free, forever. The witnesses that fix the time are free public services, so it costs us nothing to run, and we charge nothing for it. Only a copy of your proofs in the cloud, which comes with the paid plan, will cost money.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is fingerprinted on your computer and never leaves it. When you are online, only a salted fingerprint goes to the public witnesses, never the file, and nothing goes to Alcyone.
What does a proof prove, and what does it not?
It proves this exact file (one changed byte gives a different fingerprint), when it existed (the window of time witnessed by others), and that the proof was made on this Rashnova installation and has not been altered. It does not prove who made the file or who owns it, that what it says is true, or that a court will accept it.
Who witnesses the time?
Four independent witnesses, never Alcyone. A public random value from the League of Entropy (drand) shows the proof was not made before a moment; two time stamp authorities, DigiCert and Sectigo, sign the time (RFC 3161); and OpenTimestamps puts the proof into a Bitcoin block, usually within a few hours. The computer's clock is also compared with India's official time (NPL).
Can someone check my proof without Rashnova?
Yes. Every proof is one .rproof file that carries verify.html: open it in any browser, offline, and drop the file in. VERIFY.md gives the same checks with standard tools such as OpenSSL. The official checker is also published on this site with its own fingerprint. If Rashnova disappeared tomorrow, your proofs would still check.
Why two signatures, and what is post quantum?
Every proof is signed twice: with a classic signature (ECDSA P-256, kept in your computer's security chip when it has one) and with a post quantum one (ML-DSA-65, the NIST standard FIPS 204). NIST plans to retire today's signatures between 2030 and 2035; the second signature is there so a proof made today still stands after that.
Will a court accept a Rashnova proof?
Nobody honest can promise that, and we do not. A proof shows that this exact file existed by a certain time. For evidence forms, Rashnova fills a facts sheet with what your computer knows, for a lawyer or an expert to complete: India (Section 63 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023), the USA (a Federal Rule of Evidence 902(14) certification) and a general sheet. It is not legal advice.
My photo does not match its proof. Why?
A photo resent by WhatsApp or email is recompressed, so it is no longer the same bytes, and it no longer matches. Prove the original file and keep it; check that same file later.
What if my computer is offline?
The proof is made at once, and the public times are added the next time the computer is online.
Can I prove a whole folder?
Yes. A whole folder becomes one proof, and one file can later be shown on its own without revealing the others.
Proofs are free, in Rashnova, on your computer.
